The VIX at 70 or 30, whichever it was, no longer exists.

Why does everyone insist on being permanently bearish when the market has the memory of a goldfish?

There is a distinct shift happening beneath the surface, and the FOMO for energy is strong.

Staples, Real Estate, and Health Care, after riding through April and August, are now truly in a correction and bearish phase.

  • Current Closed Equity Return = 24.5%

  • Current Open Equity = 31.1%

  • Stop Loss Trigger = 25.5%

Some portfolio positions we closed out this week have lifted our closed equity return to 24.5% since we started sharing this experiment via Substack last November.

I wish I had started earlier. Last Halloween, we had a positive September-October, which would have made the above chart look so much better by comparison.

Alas, it was not public, so I won’t share it, as I want everything to be verified.
